General Lew Wallace was a military and literary genius. One day, he and fellow agnostic Robert Ingersoll decided they would write a book that would forever destroy the myth of Christianity. So Wallace spent years researching in the world's leading libraries to find the most powerful arguments he could.
While writing the second chapter of his book, he suddenly found himself on his knees, crying out, "My Lord and my God." The evidence was overwhelmingly conclusive - and Wallace was now a believer. He shared…
"After six years given to the impartial investigation of Christianity as to its truth or falsity, I have come to the deliberate conclusion that Jesus Christ was the Messiah of the Jews, the Savior of the world and my own personal Redeemer."
Wallace later wrote Ben Hur - one of the greatest Christian novels.
It's amazing what can happen when we examine the incredible claims of Christ and His followers. You have a man who claimed to be from God, died on a cross, was seen alive by hundreds after His death, and had thousands of followers soon after. These claims speak for themselves.
So if you ever have any doubt in your faith, remember that history is on your side. And when we look at the historical evidence, the truth is clear - Jesus is Lord!
