How to make an impact in your mission field

God can use your present place as a mission field when contentment turns into faithful witness and kingdom impact.

Acts 17:26

In the eleventh century, King Henry III of Bavaria grew tired of court life and the pressures of being a monarch. So he went to visit the head monk of a local monastery and asked to spend the rest of his life living in isolation and devoting himself to prayer and worship.

"Your Majesty," said the monk, "do you understand that the pledge you're making is one of obedience? That will be hard because you've been a king."

"I understand," said Henry. "The rest of my life I will be obedient to you as Christ leads you."

"Then I will tell you what to do," said the old monk. "Go back to your throne and serve faithfully in the place where God has put you."

When King Henry died, it was written about him, "The King learned to rule by being obedient."

Quite often, people grow weary of their daily roles and responsibilities. But it's in those times we must remember that God has given each and every one of us a ministry wherever we are and whatever we do. So instead of despising your situation in life, see it as your mission field and use it for God's glory!
