More than enough
Joy can endure hardship because God promises to supply our needs from the riches of His glory in Christ.
Hardship and challenges are part of life. Everyone experiences seasons of sickness, grief, loneliness, pain, anger, and broken relationships. These things are part and parcel of human existence.
But when we do face trials, where we turn says so much about what we value most.
The apostle Paul was no stranger to challenging times. In fact, when he wrote his letter to the Philippians, he was in chains in a Roman prison.
Further, many believe he was writing at a time when emperor Nero was beginning to ruthlessly persecute and kill Christians. It was one of the most troubling times in history for believers. And yet, Philippians is one of the most joyful and encouraging books in all the Bible.
Today's reading reveals why Paul, in the midst of his troubles - and you in whatever circumstance you face - can have such joy.
God will meet your needs, according to the riches of his glory in Christ. No matter what you're facing, God will supply your needs… abundantly!
You may not be able to see how you will get through financial strain, but you can be certain that God will provide.
