You're a marvelous mosaic
Each believer bears God's image individually, yet together the body of Christ forms a larger picture of His glory.
Have you ever looked closely at a piece of photo mosaic art? Aren't they fascinating?
If you're not familiar with photo mosaic artwork, they are images comprised of hundreds or even thousands of tiny individual pictures. When viewed individually, each image that makes up the mosaic is a complete image on its own. But when they are grouped together and arranged properly, they form a larger picture.
The body of Christ is much like one of these beautiful mosaics. Each one of us bears the image of God on our own, but we are also all part of a much bigger, fascinating picture.
As this passage from Romans explains, we each have unique forms and functions, and yet we also form one body, linked to each other through Christ.
This truth can give you a sense of purpose as a member of the body of Christ, and also great comfort in knowing that you are an important part of something much larger than yourself. When you are engaged in your Christian community with other believers, you not only reflect the image of God yourself, but you also help present a marvelous mosaic to the world.
