How do you deal with worry in your own life?

One thing I’ve learned is to remember the very simple phrase, “Let go and let God.” When I’m tempted to worry about something, I remind myself that God is sovereign in all circumstances, and that He’s for me, not against me. Because of that powerful truth, I can give it all—our finances, our health, our security—to Him, trusting He’ll work it out for our good and His glory.

How can I manage my worry when there’s so much to be anxious about?

It does often seem like there are many reasons to worry. I know seniors who worry often about what’s going to happen to them financially, whether their health is going to get worse, or if someone is going to take advantage of them. But the worries and anxieties that concern many people are typically based less in reality and more in fear.

A wealthy businessman was crossing the street one day when he saw a black cat coming toward him. Being the superstitious person he was, he stepped aside to let the cat pass. He spent the rest of the day at work worried about his encounter with the cat. Was he going to have bad luck in his next business deal? Would this ruin him financially?
